| Abstract |
International Journal of Africa Nursing Sciences (IJANS) is an international, scientific, open access journal published by Elsevier. The journal aims to publish high‑quality research in nursing and midwifery and to advance the international understanding and development of nursing and midwifery in Africa, both as a profession and as an academic discipline. In this context, IJANS welcomes high‑quality research from Africa and from the global nursing and midwifery community, provided that such work demonstrates clear relevance to and supports the growth and development of nursing and midwifery in Africa.
The journal provides a forum for all aspects of nursing and midwifery sciences, with a particular focus on new trends and advances. IJANS publishes original research, systematic and scholarly reviews, critical papers, technical reports, and short communications that stimulate debate on research, policy, theory, or philosophy related to nursing and midwifery in Africa, and that meet high academic and ethical standards. Manuscripts addressing nursing practice, education, management, and research are encouraged, including studies conducted outside Africa where the findings offer transferable insights or practical implications for African nursing contexts.
The journal values rigorous methodology, strong theoretical foundations, and critical scholarly debate on issues of strategic importance to educators, practitioners, leaders, and policy‑makers in Africa. All submissions must clearly articulate their relevance to the development of nursing and midwifery in Africa. IJANS operates a double‑blind peer review process and is working towards inclusion in core indexation databases. |
