| Abstract | Clean and Healthy Living Behavior is an important health promotion strategy aimed at improving children's health status and preventing communicable diseases from an early age. However, the implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior among elementary school students remains suboptimal due to several factors, including insufficient knowledge and negative attitudes toward healthy living practices. This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior among fourth- and fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Halat, Medan, Indonesia, in 2026. This quantitative analytical study employed a cross-sectional design involved 93 respondents selected from a population of 121 students using the Slovin formula and proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using valid and reliable questionnaires assessing knowledge, attitudes, and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior. Descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test were used for data analysis with a significance level of 0.05. The findings showed that most respondents had poor knowledge (39.8%), moderate attitudes (35.5%), and poor Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (40.9%). The Chi-square test revealed a significant relationship between knowledge and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (p=0.006) as well as between attitudes and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (p=0.001). These findings suggested that students with better knowledge and more positive attitudes are more likely to practice Clean and Healthy Living Behavior. Therefore, strengthening school-based health education programs and promoting collaboration among teachers, parents, and health professionals are recommended to improve healthy behaviors among elementary school students. | 1 |
