| Abstract | Electronic medical records (EMR) represent a significant innovation in the healthcare sector. The implementation of EMR at MAMA Maternal and Child Hospital in Palembang has been successful and is actively utilized in daily service operations. However, challenges persist—such as unstable network connections, system errors, or lag which can hinder patient service processes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of EMR usage regarding outpatient service times at MAMA Maternal and Child Hospital, Palembang. A qualitative method with a descriptive approach was employed, utilizing observation and interviews for data collection. The findings indicate that EMR usage has enhanced the effectiveness of outpatient registration services through ease of use, rapid data access, data completeness, information security, and system integration; these factors have streamlined and organized workflows. Key factors supporting EMR effectiveness at the hospital include the availability of necessary facilities and infrastructure, the competence of trained staff, the existence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and hospital management support regarding system management, maintenance, and development. Nevertheless, technical issues such as network disruptions remain. It is recommended that internet network quality be improved and periodic EMR system maintenance be conducted to ensure smoother registration service operations. | 1 |
