| Abstract | Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are information technology-based systems implemented to support the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of healthcare services. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Electronic Medical Record use in outpatient registration services at Namira Hospital Palembang, particularly regarding the implementation of EMR, its contribution to accelerating the registration process, and the factors supporting its effectiveness. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research informants were selected using purposive sampling and consisted of the Head of the Medical Records Unit, outpatient registration officers, and personnel supporting the EMR system. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that EMR had been implemented in outpatient registration services and was used for patient data retrieval, patient identity entry, and electronic data storage. The use of EMR was considered effective in supporting registration services because it facilitated patient data retrieval, accelerated the registration process, improved data completeness and accuracy, and reduced the use of manual medical record documents. The effectiveness of EMR use was supported by trained human resources, the availability of computers and network infrastructure, the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and support from hospital management. However, technical obstacles were still encountered, particularly unstable internet connections and system slowdowns, which could affect the smoothness of registration services. Therefore, improvements in network infrastructure, regular system maintenance, and continuous training for registration officers are needed to optimize the implementation and effectiveness of EMR in outpatient registration services. | 1 |
