| Abstract | Kepok banana peel (Musa paradisiaca L.) and fuji apple peel (Malus pumila) contain flavonoid compounds, polyphenols, tannins and other bioactive compounds that have the potential to be antioxidants and antibacterial against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria. Objective: This study is aimed to determine the antioxidant and antibacterial activity of a combination of ethanol extracts of banana peel and test apple peel against Propionibacterium acnes. Method: The study was conducted experimentally using the DPPH method to test antioxidant activity with IC50 value parameters and the dise diffusion method to test the antibacterial activity in several extract concentrations. Results: The results of the study showed that the combination of ethanol extracts of banana peel and fuji apple had antioxidant activity shown by the IC50 value of 11,63 #g/ml and was able to inhibit the growth of Propionibacterium acnes which was characterized by the formation of inhibition zones in each concentration, namely 10% (10,15 mm), 20% (12,11 mm) and 30% high pailing between K-, 10% and 20% with inhibition values (14,15 mm) with strong categories. The results of data analysis using One WaynAnova test were obtained that there was a significant difference between several treatment groups (p < 0.05) which means that each group is in a different subser and there is no overlapping subset. | 1 |
