| Abstract | ABSTRACT The Cases of food poisoning that frequently occur, including in large-scale programs, indicate the weak implementation of hygiene and sanitation principles at the household level. Mothers of toddlers play a crucial role in minimizing the risk of this contamination through the management of family daily consumption. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of health education using booklet media on the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice of food safety among mothers with toddlers. This quantitative study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test layout. The study was conducted from January to March 2026 in the Assisted Area of Nusa Indah Integrated Service Post (Posyandu), Rantau Prapat. Through the total sampling technique, a sample of 60 mothers of toddlers was obtained. Data were collected using structured questionnaires covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, and subsequently analyzed bivariately using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results of the bivariate Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of < .001 for the knowledge variable; < .001 for the attitude variable; and < .001 for the practice variable. Because the significance value of each variable is much smaller than the threshold of 0.05 (𝑝 < 0.05), the Alternative Hypothesis (𝐻 𝑎) is accepted and the Null Hypothesis (𝐻0) is rejected. The delivery of educational intervention through food safety booklet media is statistically proven to provide a highly significant effect in increasing cognitive knowledge, shaping positive attitudes, and improving the actual practices of mothers of toddlers in implementing food safety principles at the household level.
