| Abstract | Emergency incidents in hospitals, particularly code blues, remain an important indicator of patient safety that can be prevented through early detection using the Early Warning Score (EWS). However, its implementation has been suboptimal due to variations in healthcare workers' knowledge, education, and accuracy. This study aims to analyze the relationship and determine the dominant factors between EWS accuracy, knowledge, and education and code blue incidents in inpatient wards. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 160 healthcare workers. Data were collected through questionnaires and observation. The analysis used the chi-square test and logistic regression to determine the strength of the relationship through odds ratios. The results showed a significant association between EWS accuracy, knowledge, and education and code blue incidents (p<0.05). Knowledge was the most dominant factor with an OR=0.008, followed by EWS accuracy (OR=0.317) and education (OR=0.265), all of which were protective against code blue incidents. These findings indicate that increasing knowledge and accuracy in implementing the EWS significantly contribute to reducing the risk of patient emergencies. In conclusion, strengthening healthcare worker competency through ongoing training and increasing adherence to EWS protocols is an effective strategy for improving patient safety.
