| Abstract | Work fatigue is one of the occupational health problems that can reduce productivity, concentration, and increase the risk of workplace accident. One factor that is suspected to be related to work fatigue is the work shift system. Employees who work night shifts tend to experience circadian rhythm disturbances, lack of sleep, and decreased physical condition, which can lead to work fatigue. Based on a preliminary survey conducted at PT Pelindo TEDS Tally Belawan, several employees reported feeling tired, sleepy, and having difficulty concentrating while working. This study is aimed to determine the relationship between work shifts and work fatigue among operational tally employees at PT Pelindo TEDS Tally Belawan in 2026. This research used quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all operational tally employees of PT Pelindo TEDS Tally Belawan, totaling 45 employees. The sampling technique used was total sampling, in which all members of the population were included as research participants. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 10 questions related to work fatigue. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square. The results showed that most respondents worked night shifts and experienced high levels of work fatigue. The Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between work shifts and work fatigue among operational tally employees at PT Pelindo TEDS Tally Belawan in 2026. | 1 |
