| Abstract | Malnutrition, also known as kwashiorkor in the medical world, is a form of malnutrition. Malnutrition can result from either a deficiency or excess of nutrients, and kwashiorkor can essentially be defined as a condition where a person lacks adequate energy and protein intake. This study was a case-control study. Data were collected through medical records and interviews using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed univariately, bivariately using the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level (P <0.05) and multivariately using multiple logistic regression tests. The results of the study showed that the statistical test results for the independent variable Knowledge obtained a Sig value of 0.001 <p: 0.05, Family income obtained a Sig value of 0.001 <p: 0.05, Exclusive Breastfeeding obtained a Sig value of 0.001 <p: 0.05 meaning there is a significant relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The variables that influence the incidence of Malnutrition are Knowledge, family income and Exclusive Breastfeeding, with a p value of <0.05. The most dominant variable that has the greatest influence on the incidence of malnutrition is knowledge, which has the largest Exp (B) value of 112.687 with a regression coefficient (B) of 4.725. The Padangsidimpuan City Government, through the Health Office, is expected to improve its outreach and counseling programs and enhance the role of health workers, particularly in disseminating scientific information on malnutrition by involving health cadres, community leaders, and religious leaders. | 1 |
