| Abstract | Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders among workers performing repetitive tasks and adopting non-ergonomic working postures, including oil palm harvesters. Age, length of service, and working posture are considered important factors associated with CTS complaints. This study aimed to determine the relationship between age, length of service, and working posture with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) complaints among oil palm harvesters at PTPN IV Dolok Ilir, Dolok Batu Nanggar District, Simalungun Regency, in 2026. This study used a quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design. A total of 58 respondents were selected using total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and working posture observations and analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 95% (α = 0.05). The findings showed that 65.5% of respondents experienced CTS complaints, 58.6% were aged ≥35 years, 56.9% had worked for ≥5 years, and 60.3% had non-ergonomic working postures. Statistical analysis revealed significant relationships between age and CTS complaints (p=0.001), length of service and CTS complaints (p=0.030), and working posture and CTS complaints (p=0.001). Age, length of service, and working posture were significantly associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome complaints among oil palm harvesters. Companies are recommended to improve ergonomic work practices, provide occupational health education, and conduct regular health examinations to reduce the risk of CTS. | 1 |
