| Abstract | This study is aimed to determine whether a hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) leaf extract patch meets the requirements for product evaluation, determine its effectiveness in healing cuts, and determine the most effective extract concentration. The research method used was experimental research, including the preparation of simplicia, characterization of simplicia, phytochemical screening, hibiscus leaf extraction, patch formulation in four formulas, namely F0 (without extract), F1 (3%), F2 (6%), and F3 (12%), evaluation of the physical quality of the preparation, and effectiveness test on cuts in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Evaluation parameters included organoleptic tests, thickness, weight uniformity, pH, folding resistance and drying shrinkage. The results showed that all patch formulas met the preparation evaluation requirements. Phytochemical screening showed the presence of secondary metabolites in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and steroids. The results of the effectiveness test showed that the hibiscus leaf extract patch was able to accelerate the healing of cuts compared to the negative control. Statistical analysis using One Way ANOVA showed a significant difference between treatment groups (p <0.05). Formula F3 with an extract concentration of 12% provided the best wound healing effectiveness and had results comparable to the positive control. Thus, a hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) leaf extract patch has the potential to be developed as an alternative topical preparation for wound healing. | 1 |
