Abstract Acne is a skin disease caused by blockage of the pilosebaceous follicles accompanied by bacterial infection such as Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus. The use of synthetic drugs for acne therapy may cause side effects; therefore, alternative treatments derived from natural ingredients are needed. Butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) contains active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, steroids, and terpenoids, which are known to possess antibacterial activity against acne-causing bacteria. This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanol extract sheet mask formulation of butterfly pea flower on antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as to evaluate the physical characteristics of the resulting sheet mask preparation. The extract was obtained through maceration using 96% ethanol and formulated into three concentrations, namely F1 (5%), F2 (10%), and F3 (15%). Evaluation of the physical characteristics included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, and spreadability tests. Antibacterial activity was assessed using the agar diffusion method by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone against the test bacteria. The results showed that all formulations met the required physical characteristics of sheet mask preparations. Formula F2 (10%) exhibited the highest antibacterial activity against the tested bacteria, with an average inhibition zone diameter of 19.76 mm, while F1 (5%) It can be concluded that butterfly pea flower extract in a sheet mask preparation has antibacterial activity, with 15% being the most effective concentration. and F3 (15%) produced inhibition zones of 14.23 mm and 19.56 mm, respectively. This result sugges that, ethanol extract of butterfly pea flower has the potential to be used as an active ingredient in antibacterial sheet mask preparations to inhibit the growth of acne-causing bacteria 1
