| Abstract | The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is one of the essential measures to protect farmers from the risk of pesticide exposure, which may cause health problems and occupational accidents. The low use of PPE among vegetable farmers remains a major concern and is influenced by various factors, including the level of knowledge and attitudes toward occupational safety and health. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among vegetable farmers in Siambaton Village. Dolok Pardamean District, in 2026. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 50 vegetable farmers, and the sampling technique used was total sampling, in which the entire population was included as respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level (a 0.05). The results showed that the majority of respondents had poor knowledge (68.0%), negative attitudes (72.0%), and did not use PPE (82.0%). The bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between knowledge and the use of PPE (p = 0.000), as well as a significant relationship between attitudes and the use of PPE (p = 0.025). The study concluded that better knowledge and more positive attitudes were associated with better compliance in using PPE while working. Therefore, continuous health education, counseling, and training provided by health workers and relevant institutions are needed to improve farmers' knowledge, promote positive attitudes, increase PPE use, and minimize the risk of pesticide exposure and occupational health problems.
