| Abstract | The background of this study was hospital health promotion plays a role in raising patient awareness through health education. Technological advancements have introduced digital education as an alternative to in-person education, so research is needed to determine the more effective method. The objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of digital counseling and in-person counseling in increasing patient health awareness at RSU Sembiring Deli Tua in 2026. The methodology of this study was quantitative research with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest without control group design on 70 respondents divided into digital and in-person groups. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results of this study showed that Patient awareness levels increased from an average score of 60,57 to 79,34 after the counseling. Both methods were effective in increasing patient awareness (p=0,000), but in-person counseling was more effective than digital counseling, with mean ranks of 42,63 and 28,37 (p=0,003).The result of this study concluded that Both digital and face to face counseling are effective in increasing patient awareness, but face to face counseling is better at improving patients health awareness. Based on the result Suggestion was the hospital health promotion unit is recommended to prioritize face to face counseling and use digital media as a support in delivering health education.
