| Abstract | Environmental sanitation is an important effort to improve public health. Community knowledge and attitudes influence behavior in maintaining environmental sanitation. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes and community environmental sanitation efforts in Hutanamora Village, Lumban Julu District, Toba Regency, in 2026. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 182 households, and 65 respondents were selected using the accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that 51 respondents (78.5%) had poor knowledge, 44 respondents (67.7%) had negative attitudes, and 41 respondents (63.1%) had poor environmental sanitation efforts. The Chi-Square test revealed a significant relationship between knowledge and environmental sanitation efforts (p-value = 0.003) and a significant relationship between attitudes and environmental sanitation efforts (p-value = 0.001). It can be concluded that knowledge and attitudes were significantly associated with community environmental sanitation efforts in Hutanamora Village, Lumban Julu District, Toba Regency, in 2026. The community is expected to improve knowledge and develop positive attitudes to enhance environmental sanitation efforts. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Environmental Sanitation Efforts. | 1 |
