| Abstract | The high workload and interaction dynamics in inpatient wards make nurses highly vulnerable to psychosocial risks, which can impact the decline of occupational safety performance. This study aims to analyze the relationship between psychosocial risk factors (Job Demands, Interpersonal Relations and Leadership, and Social Capital) and Safety Behavior among nurses. This research is a quantitative observational study with a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted in the inpatient wards of RSU Sembiring Deli Tua with a total sample of 57 respondents. Data collection was carried out using questionnaire instruments adapted from COPSOQ III and Neal & Griffin’s Safety Behavior (2006) and analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation statistical test (a = 0,05). The results of the bivariate analysis demonstrate a significant negative correlation between Job Demands and Safety Behavior (p < 0,001; r = –0,760). Conversely, there is a strong significant positive correlation between Interpersonal Relations and Leadership and Safety Behavior (p < 0,001; r = 0,951), as well as between Social Capital and Safety Behavior (p < 0,001; r = 0,938). It can be concluded that higher job demands lead to decreased safety behavior, whereas higher quality of interpersonal relations, leadership, and social capital lead to increased safety behavior. Hospital management is advised to evaluate nurse workload ratios and facilitate leadership strengthening programs for Head Nurses to optimize the safety culture in inpatient units. | 1 |
