| Abstract | This study aimed to analyze the correlation between safety sign comprehension and adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) utilization among workers at PT Tirta Lyonnaise Medan Tanjung Morawa in 2026. The background of this research was based on the critical role of PPE in minimizing occupational hazards and work-related diseases. Workers' knowledge of safety signs is pivotal in raising awareness of potential hazards in the workplace, which subsequently influences their compliance with PPE usage. This study employed a quantitative research method with a cross-sectional design. The research population consisted of all workers at PT Tirta Lyonnaise Medan Tanjung Morawa, with a total sample of 40 respondents selected using the total sampling technique. The research instruments included a safety sign knowledge questionnaire and a PPE compliance questionnaire, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a good level of knowledge regarding safety signs, accounting for 29 respondents (72.5%). Of these 29 respondents, 17 respondents (58.6%) demonstrated compliance with PPE use. The Chi-Square test results indicated a Pearson Chi-Square value of 8.115 and a p-value of 0.017 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant relationship between safety sign comprehension and compliance with PPE usage. Workers with better knowledge of safety signs tended to exhibit a higher level of discipline in using PPE. In conclusion, there is a distinct correlation between knowledge of safety signs and PPE compliance among employees. It is recommended that the company management continue to strengthen educational programs, periodic socialization, and routine supervision of PPE usage to cultivate a robust workplace safety culture and minimize occupational accidents optimally.
